Tuesday Tutorial with Our Guest Sandra AKA Fearless

Good Morning.

Fearless ( http://www.dreamsareforchasing.com/) here today to share with you my photo tutorial using fantastic April Kit.

I have had so much fun putting this all together for you, the photo is of me and my soulmate on our way back from the trip we took down to London this year.

1.  Using March kit please cut 2 papers (seen) to approx 2 squares and glue it down to white based provided in kit.

2. Using any kind of floral (or any kind of different pattern, it's up to you!) stencil just spray using orange or yellow mist/pain in the right/middle of our pink fresh paper.

3. Using any kind of tags you might have just glue 2 of them down in approx place where I have. Than using a black ink pen just draw around it and around the pink paper which is under the pink fresh one.

4. Time to get our photo in the right place, but just before that add some flowers, it can be any kind (paper, handmade, ready made etc) + the ones you have included in Citrus Twist Scrapbooking Kit. Once you do it, place the photo on it as well as seen on photos below and again using black ink pen please draw around the photo (best be square )

5.  Time to do my favorite part: paints and decorations. Using any type of similar embellishments (some of it comes from Citrus Twist Kit March Pocket Life Kit) some of it comes from my own stash, try to add it around the places I have, than using a gold paint (available in Citrus Shop) just add it in two places as seen on photos with a tiny bit of black ink on the top of it and some stamping around (on the top of the photo) using paint brush or mists just do some random drops around with paint (remeber to cover the photo!)

it's all done!

Now it's time to show you some closer looks so you can see it better:

Material List:
Scissors, Glue, Black Ink Pen, 1 Mist/paint spray,  Citrus Twist Kit PL kit, March, 1 Stencil (any kind of your choice), Citrus Twist Scrapbooking Kit, April Main, Gold Paint, any kind of your own stash embellishments.

(Most can be purchased in Citrus Twist Store here!) [link to store]

Thank you so Much for popping down today.

love

Layout Tutorial with Jessy

Hello CTK fans & subscribers! Today I would like to share with you my step-by-step layout tutorial which involved a little mixed media with you.

I will always start with gathering my supplies. I often use my photo(s) as a reference for my design, colours & composition. Here I used the April Main + Embellishment kit that you can get at the CTK website.

For this layout, I used 3 patterned papers and overlapped the papers onto each other.

Next, I used a wet tissue and dipped into the gesso. I slowly dabbed the gesso at the centre. I wanted to tone down the red pattered paper.

Once the gesso is dried, I splattered some black & gold mist onto the patterned paper.

Once all the mist is completely dried, I adhered the washi tapes onto the middle part of the layout.

Finally, embellish the layout with the pretty die-cuts.

Here is my completed layout + close-ups...

Hope you are inspired to dig out your CTK kits and start to create today! Thanks for letting me share with you.

Happy Crafting!

Layout + PL Spread with Jessy Christopher

Hello friends!! I'm back to share with you what I created with the April "Flight of Whimsy" Main kit & April "Adorable"Embellishment kit. I always love how all the kits in Citrus Twist Kits could match each other so well. That's just so amazing rite?

This layout was pretty fun to put together. I used this beautiful paper by PinkFresh Studio and fussy    cut the bird + house and also the triangles. I love how the yellow pops out with the green color.

_______________________________________________________________

And also with the main + embellishment kit, I created a project life spread. This time round, I wanted a bold + bright & whimsical spread. Love the big words spread all around the page. So inspired by all the goodies in the kit. Absolutely loved how this one turned out!

I hope you are inspired to create something with your CTK kit today!

Hello, Fearless here again. I must say that working with the April Kit was really time taking and it's such a shame that all the papers are cut now!

Today I have for you my last work as a guest designer.  I was really honored to be here, thank you.

Sunday Sketch With Sandy

Hi everyone! Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. Today is sketch day and I present to you the latest sketch from Kaisa. We love to see what you do with our kits and sketches, so please make sure to upload your projects to the Citrus Twist Gallery. And remember, if you upload your take to our Gallery by 2nd May, you will be entered to win a $5 coupon to use on anything in the CTK store! Make sure to add "Sketch 4/26" to the title line when you upload. Have fun!

April Sketch

I've adapted the sketch to a 8.5"x11" format which I'm most comfortable working in, otherwise I remained pretty faithful to the sketch. When I saw the Amy Tangerine circles paper from the April Pattern Play No 1 Kit I knew it'll be perfect for this sketch.  I fussy-cut a bunch of blue and black circles and layered them around the photo of a cyclist, the spokes of the circles adds a suggestion of bicycle wheels spinning. In place of the two tags in the sketch I use two text labels again cut out from pattern paper. Journaling I printed in two columns directly onto the background paper. To finish things off I embellish with few small pieces including a re-purposed light-blub paperclip from the April Sprinkles Kit.

I hope you'll be inspired to play along with our sketch challenge. We welcome layouts that stick pretty close to the sketch and also layouts with creative interpretations. Have fun scrapping and I look forward to seeing your takes in our Gallery.

3 To Inspire with Emma

3toinspirelogo

Hi everyone, Emma here to share a new page for the "3 to Inspire" series! We offer this new challenge every Saturday for those who need a little extra push to get scrapbooking, to keep scrapbooking, or those of you just looking for a challenge!

Your take on this challenge can be in the form of a layout or a PL spread and you'll want to include all 3 elements on your project.

This week I'd like to challenge you to:

1. Use alpha's to create your background "pattern"
2. Use the colour green (or shades thereof)
3. Try a 6x8 page (eek!)

Now I cheated a little with that last one (because 6x8 is all I scrap!) and if the change of page size freaks you out then please just stick with what you usually do, but I'd really love for you to give it a try.  The smaller size really is a lot of fun!  If you are trying this for PL you could incorporate a insert at 6x8 OR have your photo/card be more than one 3x4/6x4/etc pocket (so print your photo bigger, etc!).

This is my take on the challenge:

I love, love, love the new epoxy stickers from the Main kit this month.  They are perfect to use on the smaller pages too *winkwink*.

Now it's your turn! Use the three prompts to create your own projects and share them with us here in the gallery and/or our Facebook Forum. You can also upload to Instagram, but remember to tag us @citrustwistkits. Looking forward to seeing what you can do!

Pocket Life Sketch Friday

Hi there Pocket Lifer's! It's Trina here today to share your Friday PL sketches. I kept this page pretty simple and centered the entire layout around the vellum pocket in the center of the page.

I pulled product mostly from the April PL kit and couldn't resist using some of the new Citrus Twist Kits/Pinkfresh epoxy stickers, too. I also used sequins and acrylic hearts from the April Sprinkles kit.

I just had to play with the new Becky Higgins roller phrase stamp! I like how many different uses I'll be able to get out of the stamp:

Here is a close-up using one of the phrases and one of the patterned lines from the new Becky Higgins stamp:

My 9x12 page was built around this homemade vellum pocket. I made it by cutting two pieces of vellum to 3x4 inches each and stitching the vellum together on three sides. Next I used my StazOn ink to stamp on the vellum, positioned one of the (adorable!) Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine epoxy stickers, then stitched the top shut. (See my challenge to you below!):

I used some woodgrain paper from Amy Tangerine Rise & Shine to create the background for my title card. Two alphabets in this month's PL kit made it fun to mix and match a title, plus I picked one of the stamps from the Becky Higgins roller stamp:

Couldn't stop myself from doing a little layering! I keep a stash of grid paper and vellum in my craft room to help build up the layers, plus threw in that bright Amy Tangerine triangle paper:

Here are your sketches, plus I have a challenge for you! Make your own vellum stitched pocket for one of your pages this month.
